The Danger of “Guessing”
When food is rationed, your perception skews. You might feel full because you ate a lot of rice, but nutritionally, you might be running on empty.
Without protein (repair) and fats (maintenance), your body will start cannibalizing its own muscle tissue within days. You cannot afford to guess.
The Analog Solution: Pencil & Paper
Batteries die. Paper does not1.
You don’t need a complex spreadsheet. You just need a cheap notebook and a pencil.
The 3-Column System
Draw three columns on a page for every meal2:
C (Carbs): Fuel. (Rice, oats, pasta).
P (Protein): Repair. (Tuna, beans, canned meat).
F (Fat): Energy/Maintenance. (Oil, nuts, peanut butter).
How to Use It
Every time you eat, make a checkmark.
Breakfast: Oatmeal (C) + Powdered Milk (P). -> Check C and P.
Lunch: Rice (C) + Beans (P). -> Check C and P.
At the end of the day, look at your paper.
If you see a lot of C’s but no F’s, you are in trouble. You have energy, but you aren’t absorbing vitamins.
The Fix: Add a spoonful of oil or peanut butter to your next meal immediately 3.
Why This Saves Lives
This system gives you a “bird’s-eye view” of your survival4. It stops you from accidentally malnutritioning your family while their bellies feel full. It brings discipline to chaos.
